Among the heavily populated streets, a girl fought her way to the Saffron Avenue subway. Her jet black hair grazed the neck of her leather jacket, and her citrine eyes darted about the station. Boarding the train was never an easy task in this part of town, the walls tagged to the nines. Adia Balewa, an immigrant, was beginning to understand that attaining her dream would be far more challenging than she’d ever conceived...

settled on the view of the true Acropolis- a kingdom of morning clouds, billowing and bathed in dawn’s glow. Gentle- ethereal even- streaks of lilac, butter yellow, periwinkle, and the like, surrounded the plane like magic.
From pale lips, a sigh rasped outward, half in sleep, half impatience. Cold bronze eyes drift from the window to the owner’s wrist, lackadaisically observing the time. Good, only 20 minutes before we land… Jae mused inwardly. Raising her left hand, she tentatively touched the tattoo below her eye. Her family, no… that wasn’t right… those kkangpae were not her family… the Black Qilin were ruthless, had she not fled, they would’ve “made an example of her”.
She had heard Adelade of Alba was to arrive there at the same time as she. She snorted, realizing that she and Jae were worlds apart. Jae snapped back to attention as
